Introduce yourself.

“I am TriVal, currently 15 years old, and I love playing Dota 2.”

At what age did you start playing games?

“I started playing PC games in 2020 when I was 12; my first game being Dota 2.”

How did you first get interested in dota2?

“My mom introduced me to the game in the 2nd half of 2020 because of the pandemic and I was almost immediately hooked.”

Who is your GOAT player in dota2?

“I can’t say I have just one player but I have a lot of people I look up to. The players I admire most are the players from OG (the TI8 and TI9 roster). Their positive mindset and their teamwork really amazes me.”

When did you realize you had a talent for it?

“I can’t recall but I do remember dota friends telling me I play better than players from my rank.”

How do you balance your time between Dota 2, schoolwork, and other interests?

“I usually finish my schoolwork before I start playing. Or I’ll, sometimes, play with friends during my break time from studies.”

What does your daily routine look like for Dota 2?

“After finishing all my schoolwork, I usually start off with a few unranked games before going on to play ranked later on at night.”

Have you had any mentors or coaches in Dota 2, and how have they influenced your playstyle?

“I don’t think I can say I’ve seriously had coaches/mentors before; but I have received a lot of tips and advice from different players I have met that have greatly helped me improve.”

Can you share your experience with your first Dota 2 competition?

“I don’t remember the first Dota 2 competition I joined except that it was an online tournament. I can only recall that I was not nervous on my first tournament because I have played a lot of lobby games before that.”

What has been your most memorable moment or achievement in your Dota 2 career so far?

“The first LAN experience I had in the TNC Sta Cruz Laguna BonTV tournament was my most memorable moment as it was the first time I got to meet friends that I only talk to and play with online. It was also the first time I experienced the teams trashtalking each other face to face.

For achievement, I would say getting to my current Immortal rank.”

How do you handle pressure and setbacks during competitions?

“I try to stay calm and play the best I can, regardless of the situation.”

What are your goals and aspirations in Dota 2 and esports in general?

“I hope to become a professional Dota 2 player and be the first female to play in the TI stage; I want to prove to people that not only guys can play well in E-sports.”

How do you see the role of esports evolving in the future, and what part do you hope to play in it?

“I can see esports-related jobs becoming more widely accepted as a career option. I hope to be someone that can help influence the non-gamers about the fact that esports is already an industry where everyone can be a part of, just like the traditional sports.”

How do your family and friends feel about your passion and success in Dota 2?

“My parents are very supportive of what I aspire to do; this is why I am allowed to play after school ends. My friends cheer me for small victories, like when I rank up or when I get far in tournaments.”

Besides Dota 2, what are your other hobbies or interests?

“Aside from playing dota 2, I also like drawing and playing other video games with friends.”

What advice would you give to other young players?

“Doing what you like is important but studying is just as important because you’ll never know what you wanna do in the future.”
